Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a three-nation visit to Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand from July 6 to 11, aimed at strengthening bilateral partnerships and expanding cooperation across key sectors, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Saturday.

During the tour, Modi is scheduled to hold talks with the leaders of all three countries, review progress in bilateral ties, engage with business leaders and interact with members of the Indian diaspora. The visit will also include cultural engagements reflecting India’s longstanding people-to-people connections with the partner nations.

Indonesia Visit To Begin On July 6

At the invitation of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Modi will travel to Indonesia from July 6 to 8. According to the MEA, the visit will mark his fourth trip to the Southeast Asian nation and his first bilateral visit since India and Indonesia elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in May 2018.

During his stay, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral discussions with President Prabowo and review the progress achieved under the strategic partnership framework. The talks are expected to cover the full spectrum of cooperation between the two countries.

Modi will also address a large gathering of the Indian diaspora in Jakarta. Highlighting the deep historical and cultural links between the two nations, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the Prambanan Temple complex in Yogyakarta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Indonesia’s most prominent cultural landmarks.

Australia Leg To Focus On Business And Strategic Cooperation

Following his Indonesia visit, Modi will travel to Melbourne, Australia, from July 8 to 10 at the invitation of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

In Melbourne, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with Albanese and call on Australia’s Governor-General, Sam Mostyn AC. The discussions are expected to review ongoing cooperation and explore opportunities to further strengthen the India-Australia partnership.

Modi will also participate in the India-Australia CEOs Forum, where he is scheduled to address leading business figures from both countries. The forum is expected to focus on enhancing economic engagement and investment opportunities. He will additionally interact with members of the Indian diaspora, which the MEA described as a key pillar of relations between the two countries.

After completing the Australian leg of the trip, Modi will travel to Auckland, New Zealand, from July 10 to 11 at the invitation of Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.

The visit will be particularly significant as it will mark the first state visit by an Indian Prime Minister to New Zealand in four decades. During the visit, Modi and Luxon will review the entire bilateral relationship, which has witnessed notable progress over the past two years.

According to the MEA, discussions are expected to focus on areas including trade, commerce and defence cooperation. The Prime Minister will also meet prominent business and sports personalities during his stay in Auckland.
