The CSR Journal Magazine

Prashant Kishor, leader of the Jan Suraaj Party, has pledged to assist at least 10,000 unemployed youths in the Bankipur constituency of Bihar in securing jobs within the next one to two years. This commitment was made during Kishor’s first visit to Bankipur after winning the recent by-election. He called upon families to send in the CVs and biodata of their educated children who are currently looking for employment.

During the visit, Kishor expressed gratitude to voters for their support, emphasising that he would tap into his extensive network of contacts across various sectors to facilitate job opportunities. He stressed that while he could not promise government positions, his focus would be on private-sector jobs that could greatly benefit the local youth.

Appeal to Local Families for CV Submission

Kishor urged families with educated but unemployed individuals to prepare their CVs and deliver them to his office. He asserted that his aim was to assist at least 10,000 families in Bankipur in finding suitable employment for their children over the specified time frame. This initiative marks one of Kishor’s first significant employment actions in the constituency following his electoral success.

In a response to criticism regarding his absence from the constituency after the election, Kishor stated, “I am not travelling anywhere. I am working for you.” This statement was intended to reassure constituents of his commitment to their welfare. He elaborated that youths may need to seek employment outside Bihar initially, but he remains hopeful that conditions could improve if his party gains a majority in the state assembly.

Kishor mentioned that the Jan Suraaj Party would prioritise the generation of local employment opportunities if elected to power, to reduce the necessity for youth to migrate in search of work.

Broader Initiatives for the Bankipur Constituency

In addition to his employment pledge, Kishor identified several key priorities for the Bankipur constituency. These include enhancing educational facilities, implementing a monthly pension scheme of Rs 1,100, and ensuring the availability of food grains for residents. He articulated the importance of these initiatives in fostering a supportive environment for the growth and development of local youths.

Kishor’s announcement comes shortly after his electoral victory in Bankipur, reflecting his commitment to immediate and actionable plans that address local issues. The community is now looking to see how effectively these commitments can be translated into tangible outcomes over the next couple of years.

This initiative highlights Kishor’s intent to maintain a close interface with the concerns of residents while encouraging proactive engagement through job applications. The focus on unemployment reflects broader trends within the region, where job availability has been a persistent challenge for many youths.
