Vadodara police have busted an alleged nude video-call racket operating from a residential flat in the city’s Manjalpur area and arrested a 10th-pass man in connection with the case.

Police identified the accused as Manish Padhiyar, who allegedly operated the racket from a third-floor flat. Investigators said women were brought to the premises and appeared on the Stripchat app, where they allegedly performed acts requested by customers in exchange for payments.

How The Alleged Racket Operated

According to police, Padhiyar used the Stripchat app to connect women at the flat with customers. Users could recharge their accounts with amounts ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 and receive coins in return.

Once a customer initiated a call, a woman appeared on the screen. The customer’s coin balance was then reduced depending on the duration of the interaction.

Police said the women and Padhiyar divided the earnings equally, with each receiving 50 per cent of the income generated through the activity.

ACP Vimal Gamit said police had received information that women were being accommodated in rented flats within the Manjalpur police station area and appearing online through the app to attract customers.

According to Gamit, customers paid different amounts in the form of tokens, with the money subsequently transferred to Padhiyar’s account. He allegedly retained his share as commission.

Police Probe Accused’s Financial Trail

Police said Padhiyar had previously operated a call centre and had allegedly brought a woman who had worked with him earlier into the operation.

During the investigation, police also found that a woman from Ghaziabad, who is studying to become an air hostess, was allegedly involved. Police are questioning her as part of the investigation.

Investigators have begun examining Padhiyar’s bank accounts, mobile phone and the wider network connected to the app to determine the scale and duration of the alleged operation.

Police said Padhiyar had purchased the Vadodara flat for Rs 11 lakh using money allegedly earned through the activity.

At present, Padhiyar is the only person arrested in the case. Police are investigating whether other women or individuals were involved in operating the alleged racket.

Case Registered Under Immoral Traffic Law

Police have registered a case against Padhiyar under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Investigators are examining how long Padhiyar had allegedly been involved in the activity and whether the operation extended beyond the flat where police found it.

ACP Gamit said police had not so far found evidence of fraud or blackmail linked to the alleged racket.

However, following the discovery of the operation, investigators will examine whether any customers or other individuals were defrauded or blackmailed.

Police are also working to identify other people connected to the alleged operation and trace the network of customers using the service as the investigation continues.
