Inauguration of Bhogapuram International Airport

Earlier this week, Chief Minister Naidu announced that the Bhogapuram International Airport is set to become a significant landmark for North Andhra, aiming to reshape the region’s economic landscape. The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the airport on August 1, which has been confirmed as per his itinerary. The project, which commenced during the tenure of the Telugu Desam Party in 2014, has been expedited by the current coalition government and has reached completion within a two-year timeframe.

The Andhra Pradesh government is preparing for a grand inauguration event to celebrate the completion of the world-class airport. In anticipation of the opening, Chief Minister Naidu led a high-level meeting on the preparations. Attendees included Union Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, State Minister Nadendla Manohar, BJP State President P. V. N. Madhav, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, and other senior officials. Representatives from the Civil Aviation Department and GMR, the construction company, briefed the Chief Minister on various aspects of the airport’s infrastructure, operational readiness, and the clearance process.

Officials informed Chief Minister Naidu that all eight necessary statutory approvals for the commencement of operations have been secured. This development positions Bhogapuram International Airport as a pivotal infrastructure component in the region.

In his address to officials, Chief Minister Naidu highlighted the vital role Bhogapuram International Airport would play in enhancing North Andhra’s development.
