Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has announced that he has been diagnosed with typhoid. He stated this information in a video message shared on social media, indicating that despite his health issues, he remains dedicated to the ongoing movement aimed at compelling the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

In his address, Dipke mentioned that he had been feeling unwell for several days and is currently receiving medical treatment, including intravenous medication. He expressed gratitude towards his supporters for their efforts in the protests conducted across the nation.

Dipke has been receiving IV drips daily and reaffirmed that his illness would not diminish his commitment to the cause. He thanked all participants from what he referred to as his “cockroaches” for their peaceful demonstrations, signalling a collective strength and resolve among the protestors.

Ongoing Protests And Movement Goals

The CJP has mobilised a significant public protest concerning ongoing irregularities in competitive examinations. The main objectives of this movement include advocating for reforms in the examination and recruitment processes, enhancing accountability, and urging for Pradhan’s resignation.

Since the protests began, there has been considerable momentum, notably following the participation of activist Sonam Wangchuk, who joined the agitation on June 28. He undertook a hunger strike that lasted for 26 days, drawing attention to the movement’s demands.

Wangchuk concluded his hunger strike earlier this week after the Central Government provided written assurances regarding several key issues. These include commitments not to take action against peaceful protesters, acknowledgement of parliamentary discussions on examination reforms, and consideration of compensation for families impacted by the suicide cases linked to the NEET paper leak.

Future Actions and Protest Continuation

Although Wangchuk has ended his hunger strike, the CJP has made it clear that their protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar will persist until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. The commitment to continue the agitation remains firm among the supporters of the movement, as they aim to sustain pressure for the demands outlined by the CJP.

Dipke conveyed optimism regarding the potential success of the movement, asserting that the persistence of peaceful protests will eventually force political change. He believes that the growth and solidarity displayed by the protest group signal a promising path toward achieving their objectives.
