UAE Reinforces Global Security Role at GLOBSEC Forum 2026 in Prague

The United Arab Emirates participated in the GLOBSEC Forum 2026, which took place in Prague, Czech Republic, from May 21 to 23, 2026. This involvement was marked by a high-level delegation led by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who serves as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. The delegation’s presence at this forum underscores the UAE’s ongoing commitment to engaging with global security discussions and multilateral dialogues.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s leadership at the forum highlighted the importance of addressing contemporary security challenges, defence strategies, and the rapid advancements in technology. The discussions reflected the UAE’s proactive stance in navigating the complexities of the changing international order.

Minister of State Participates in Key Discussions

Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, the Minister of State, also played a significant role in the forum by participating in high-level discussions. These conversations encompassed a range of critical topics, including global security issues and defence. Nusseibeh’s involvement signals the UAE’s dedication to fostering constructive dialogue on pressing international matters.

In addition to the panel discussions, Nusseibeh engaged in a series of bilateral meetings with senior officials from Europe and other international entities. These meetings were aimed at reinforcing existing bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation in various domains, including security, technology, and trade.

Among her meetings, Nusseibeh convened with Anita Orban, Hungary’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Their discussions focused on the deepening ties between Hungary and the UAE, emphasising collaborative efforts in trade, investment, energy transition, and advanced technologies. The pair also addressed mutual interests concerning defence strategies.

Strengthening International Partnerships

Another significant meeting took place between Nusseibeh and Ferit Hoxha, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania. This conversation reaffirmed the strong connections between the UAE and Albania, exploring pathways to enhance cooperation in areas such as infrastructure development, renewable energy, tourism, and innovation.

During their dialogue, both sides exchanged perspectives on regional developments, particularly in the Middle East. The discussions included efforts to foster stability and security in the region, highlighting the importance of collaborative strategies to tackle ongoing challenges.

The UAE’s active participation in GLOBSEC 2026 not only illustrates its commitment to international dialogue but also reflects its aspiration to build constructive partnerships. The forum serves as a platform for addressing collective global challenges, reinforcing the UAE’s role on the world stage as a contributor to peace and stability.
