A devastating fire occurred early on Tuesday at an electronic chip manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, leading to the tragic deaths of two firefighters. The incident took place around 3 am at ILGIM, a private company situated in the Ecotech 3 area that specialises in producing printed circuit board (PCB) chips.

Upon receiving reports of the fire, at least six fire brigade vehicles were deployed to the scene. Firefighters worked diligently to control the blaze, which was engulfing the facility. However, during their efforts, a structural failure occurred, resulting in a portion of the building collapsing.

Structural Collapse Claims Lives

According to police reports, a side wall and iron beam fell while the firefighters were actively engaged in battling the flames. This unforeseen incident led to serious injuries for five firefighters present at the scene. Among the injured were Chief Constable Driver Rajpal Singh, Fireman Manish Kumar, Chief Constable Driver Tirathpal Singh, Fireman Amit Kumar, and Fireman Rohit Yadav.

These five firefighters were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Unfortunately, medical staff later declared Rohit Yadav and Tirathpal Singh deceased during treatment. Fortunately, the remaining three firefighters are reportedly in stable condition and are no longer in danger.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) remain on-site to assist with the situation and conduct further assessments. The focus is now on determining the underlying cause of the fire, as an investigation is currently underway.

The exact cause of the fire has not yet been established, leaving room for speculation and investigation. The local police have stated that they will investigate all possible angles to uncover the circumstances leading to this tragic event.
