Hera Pheri 3 Not Happening Anytime Soon, Confirms Akshay Kumar

The CSR Journal Magazine

The anticipation for Hera Pheri 3 may be prolonged, as actor Akshay Kumar has revealed that the production of this much-awaited sequel is currently not progressing. In a recent discussion on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, Kumar addressed various speculations surrounding the film’s status, asserting that it is not on schedule at this time.

During the conversation, Kumar expressed surprise over the unexpected developments that have stalled the project. He stated, “Hera Pheri 3 abhi filhaal toh nahi ban rahi (The film is not happening as of now),” indicating that while fans are keenly looking forward to the reunion of the original trio, several unresolved issues are hindering production.

He mentioned that the delay is not related to the three lead actors, himself, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal, but rather to various other matters that cannot be publicly discussed. This suggests that behind-the-scenes complications are contributing to the hold-up.

Legal Challenges Affecting Film Rights

In recent months, the project has encountered multiple difficulties, including legal disputes concerning the rights to the franchise. Reports have emerged detailing complications that have hindered the development of Hera Pheri 3. Additionally, the unexpected exit of Paresh Rawal from the project has raised concerns among fans and actors alike, particularly because Akshay Kumar had previously acquired the rights to the franchise.

Kumar mentioned that the combined challenges faced over the past year have contributed to the film’s current stalled status. Despite these hurdles, he remains optimistic about the potential future of the film, highlighting the strong desire among the cast to reunite and work together once conditions improve.

His comments reveal a mix of disappointment and hope, as he noted that while the path forward might be unclear, the project is important to him and his co-stars. “For the next one year, the film is not on track. There are many issues,” he reiterated, pointing towards the complexities involved.

Future Prospects for Hera Pheri Franchise

Despite the current uncertainties surrounding Hera Pheri 3, Kumar conveyed a sense of humour in remarks about the timing of the film’s eventual production. He said, “It will happen when the time is right. I just hope we are not too old by then,” suggesting that he and his co-stars remain committed to the project.

The Hera Pheri franchise, which was initiated by director Priyadarshan with the first film in 2000, introduced the beloved characters Raju, Shyam, and Baburao to audiences. The sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, released in 2006 and directed by the late Neeraj Vora, further solidified the franchise’s cult status among fans.

Currently, fans may need to endure a longer wait before seeing the return of these iconic characters on the big screen. The ongoing legal and organisational challenges highlight the complexities involved in bringing such projects to fruition, and until resolutions are found, the future of Hera Pheri 3 remains uncertain.
