Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced that the Delhi government will recommend tax-free status for actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata after attending a special screening held for bureaucrats and dignitaries in the national capital.

Speaking at the film’s red-carpet premiere, Gupta described the movie as a powerful tribute to courage, service and patriotism, saying it highlighted the lesser-known story of healthcare workers who risked their lives to save patients during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

Rekha Gupta Praises Film’s Message

Calling the film highly relevant, the Chief Minister said patriotism and dedication were not limited to those in uniform but were values embodied by ordinary citizens as well.

Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is a great film and follows a very relevant topic. The film states that dedication, service and patriotism are not just limited to those in uniforms. It is something that all the citizens of our country have within themselves. And when it matters the most, every Indian steps up to help the country,” Gupta said.

She added that the real “Bharat Bhagya Vidhatas” are the citizens of the country and urged people to watch the film.

“I would like to announce that the Delhi government will make the film tax-free in the city so that every citizen is able to watch Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata,” she said.

The Chief Minister also lauded Kangana Ranaut for choosing socially relevant subjects and praised her contribution both in Parliament and cinema.

“Kangana Ranaut is a strong voice in Parliament, who keeps fighting for the betterment of cinema and the people of India. She doesn’t just voice her opinions in Parliament, but also on screen,” Gupta said.

Chief Minister Shares Message On Social Media

Following the screening, Rekha Gupta shared photographs from the event on X and commended the film’s portrayal of doctors, nurses and healthcare workers who served humanity during the Mumbai terror attacks.

In her post, she described Kangana’s performance as impactful and said such films strengthened the values of service, compassion and duty within society.

Kangana, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for attending the screening and supporting the film.

“When I called to invite her for this screening, she immediately said yes, and I will always be indebted to her,” the actor said.

Film Revisits Unsung Heroes Of 26/11

In Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, Kangana portrays a staff nurse and one of the healthcare workers who emerged as unsung heroes during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

The film focuses on the courage and resilience displayed by hospital employees who continued performing their duties amid extraordinary circumstances, including efforts by a group of nurses credited with saving hundreds of patients.

Directed and written by Manoj Tapadia, the film also stars Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, Amrutha Namdev, Esha Dey, Priya Berde, Asha Shelar, Suhita Thatte, Rasika Aghase, Aditya Mishra and Zahid Khan in pivotal roles.

Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is scheduled to release in theatres on June 12.
