Alleged Murder Conspiracy Involving Wife and Lover Uncovered in Haryana

The CSR Journal Magazine

A 21-year-old man from Rewari, Haryana, was reportedly murdered by his wife and her alleged lover in a planned conspiracy. According to the police, the victim, identified as Monu, was killed after being strangled and subsequently thrown alive into a canal. Authorities stated that the crime was initially staged to appear as a case of suicide or accidental drowning.

The details of the incident began to emerge following the recovery of deleted conversations and call records from Monu’s mobile device by his family. This evidence prompted the police to take action, leading to the arrests of his wife, Tannu, and one of the accused individuals.

Details Leading to the Disappearance

On June 7, Monu, a resident of Jadthal village, was due to pick up Tannu from her parental home. Tannu had reportedly requested Monu to bring his salary along when he visited her. After withdrawing money on June 8, Monu informed his family that he was experiencing stomach pain and would go to purchase medicine, insisting on going alone on his scooter.

At this time, Tannu contacted Monu, asking him to meet her. Surveillance data indicated that her lover, Sonu, and two accomplices, Hariom and Aman, were already present at the meeting site, ready to execute their alleged plan. Police reports suggest that the group subdued Monu and suffocated him until he lost consciousness.

Following this, the suspects allegedly disposed of his body in the canal, making it appear as though he had drowned. To further the ruse, they placed Monu’s scooter near the water to bolster the likelihood of an accidental death ruling.

Investigation Unfolds Post Recovery of Evidence

The victim’s family became alarmed when Monu did not return that evening. Concerned, they contacted Tannu the next day to inquire if she had heard from him or seen him. Tannu reportedly denied any contact. This prompted them to file a missing persons report at the Kasola Police Station.

On June 10, police divers retrieved Monu’s body from a canal near Asalwas; however, there were no visible injuries. Authorities initially treated the case under Section 174 for accidental death and subsequently released the body to the family. Trusting in the police narrative of drowning, the family proceeded with Monu’s funeral rites.

Upon receiving Monu’s mobile phone from the police on June 11, the family found that all data had been erased, leading to further suspicions. Engaging cyber experts, they managed to recover deleted chats, uncovering that Tannu had indeed contacted Monu shortly before his disappearance.

Legal Proceedings and Arrests Made

After the rituals for Monu were completed, his family submitted the recovered evidence to the police and urged for a murder investigation. Initial responses from law enforcement were allegedly unsatisfactory, leading the family to reach out to higher authorities for action.

On June 21 and again on June 30, the family met with the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) without seeing any progress. Ultimately, they approached the Superintendent of Police on July 2, resulting in the arrests of Tannu and Hariom.

During police questioning, Tannu purportedly admitted to conspiring with her lover Sonu to orchestrate Monu’s murder. According to DSP Surender Sheoran, efforts are ongoing to locate Sonu and his associate, Aman, who are currently evading arrest. The police are intensifying their investigation and will proceed based on the evidence gathered thus far.
