Vivo Takes On Apple And Samsung With X300 Ultra – But Can It Justify The Price?

The CSR Journal Magazine

Vivo has officially launched two significant smartphone models in India today, namely the Vivo X300 Ultra and Vivo X300 FE. This event marks an important step for the company as it aims to enhance its premium offerings in the market. The announcement took place in New Delhi, where Vivo streamed the event through its official social media platforms and YouTube channel.

Pricing Details of Vivo X300 FE

Although Vivo has yet to confirm the official pricing for the X300 FE in India, leaked information suggests that its initial cost may be higher than anticipated for a device bearing the “FE” tag. Previous iterations, such as the Vivo X200 FE, launched at Rs 54,999. In contrast, reports indicate that the new model could be priced at approximately Rs 79,999 for the version with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage.

This potential pricing would place the X300 FE above the standard Vivo X300, which made its debut at Rs 75,999 in December 2025. The higher cost may create challenges in attracting buyers unless Vivo can demonstrate notable advantages in the areas of design, battery longevity, or camera capabilities.

Insider tipster Sanju Choudhary has projected that the X300 FE’s box MRP could be set at Rs 1,19,999, a figure that further elevates expectations regarding its features and performance.

Vivo X300 Ultra Specifications and Expected Price

The Vivo X300 Ultra is anticipated to become Vivo’s most expensive smartphone to date within the mainstream market in India. Although specific pricing has not been disclosed, analysts suggest that it will likely exceed Rs 1 lakh, with estimates indicating a potential cost of Rs 1,59,999. This positions the Ultra model firmly within the flagship premium category, competing directly with devices such as the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Reports indicate that the X300 Ultra will sport a substantial circular rear camera module designed with photography in mind. It is expected to feature an advanced dual-camera setup, comprising a 200MP primary sensor alongside another 200MP telephoto camera. This configuration would provide enhanced optical zoom capabilities, reportedly offering 3.7x optical zoom and up to 105x digital zoom.

Additionally, Vivo is likely to introduce optional external Zeiss telephoto lenses, which could elevate the optical zoom capability to as much as 17.4x, appealing to professional mobile photography enthusiasts. Complementing this would be a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP front camera.

Vivo X300 FE Expected Features

The Vivo X300 FE is projected to feature a refreshed design with a horizontally aligned rear camera arrangement. It is likely to incorporate a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display, boasting a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Under the hood, the device is anticipated to utilise the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, with options for up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

Despite being more compact than its counterpart, the X300 FE is expected to house a sizeable 6,500mAh battery. It will reportedly support 90W wired fast charging alongside 40W wireless charging. Camera capabilities for the X300 FE are rumoured to include a Zeiss-backed configuration, featuring a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto lens, in addition to a 50MP selfie camera.

In summary, both models represent a significant investment for Vivo as they aim to capture the high-end smartphone market in India. Depending on their features and pricing, these devices may offer substantial competition to existing flagship models. The market’s response will be closely watched as they become available for purchase.
