After the Pope’s call for dialogue regarding the situation, Trump reiterated his stance on Iran’s nuclear ambitions, deeming it unacceptable for them to possess a nuclear bomb.
He stated, “Will someone please tell Pope Leo that Iran has killed at least 42,000 innocent, completely unarmed protesters in the last two months, and that for Iran to have a Nuclear Bomb is absolutely unacceptable.” Trump’s comments appear aimed at shifting the focus from the Pope’s calls for peace to the dangers posed by Iran’s actions.
