The CSR Journal Magazine

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said India had successfully weathered what he described as the “biggest energy crisis of the 21st century” caused by the conflict in West Asia, attributing the country’s resilience to timely policy decisions, strategic planning and effective diplomatic engagement.

Speaking at a public gathering in Rajasthan after inaugurating the state’s refinery project, Modi said the conflict had created widespread disruption in global energy markets and placed significant pressure on economies around the world. He, however, asserted that India was able to avoid a severe fuel crisis through proactive measures taken by the government.

Modi Highlights India’s Response To Energy Challenge

Referring to the impact of the conflict in West Asia, the Prime Minister said several countries faced serious energy-related challenges as global supplies came under strain.

He maintained that India had anticipated the risks early and responded with a coordinated strategy that helped minimise the impact on domestic energy security.

“The willpower and efforts of the new India of the 21st century have overcome the biggest energy crisis of the 21st century,” Modi said while addressing the gathering.

Strategy And Diplomacy Credited

The Prime Minister said India had taken appropriate decisions at every stage of the crisis and had effectively utilised available resources to safeguard the country’s interests.

According to Modi, the government’s response included timely assessment of the evolving situation, formulation of an effective strategy and balanced use of national resources.

He also highlighted the role of diplomacy in helping India navigate the challenges arising from the conflict and maintain energy stability during a period of global uncertainty.

“India took the right decisions at every level, assessed the crisis in time, formulated an effective strategy, made balanced use of national resources and leveraged its diplomatic strength to navigate the challenge,” he said.

Remarks Made During Rajasthan Visit

Modi made the comments after inaugurating the refinery-cum-petrochemical project in Rajasthan, one of the largest industrial projects in the state.

The Prime Minister’s remarks come against the backdrop of continued discussions on global energy security and the economic impact of geopolitical conflicts on fuel supplies and prices.

Further details of the Prime Minister’s address and related announcements are awaited. This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
