CBSE Announces Datesheet for Class 12 Supplementary Exams 2026

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the datesheet for the Senior Secondary Class 12 Supplementary Examination 2026. This announcement was made on July 17, 2026, by Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, the CBSE Controller of Examinations. According to the released schedule, all subjects will be examined on a single day, specifically on July 28, 2026.

It has been confirmed that the majority of examinations will take place from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. However, select skill and elective subjects, which have shorter examination times, will conclude earlier at 12:30 pm. To enhance students’ readiness, an extra 15 minutes will be allocated for reading the question paper prior to the commencement of each exam.

Subjects Offered on Exam Day

The July 28 examinations will cover a wide range of subjects. From 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, students will take exams in core subjects such as English, Hindi, Urdu, and Sanskrit, along with subjects including History, Political Science, Geography, and various others. This also encompasses scientific and vocational studies, including Biology, Chemistry, Business Studies, and vocational subjects like Retail and Information Technology.

For those taking subjects with shorter durations, such as Hindustani Music, Painting, and Artificial Intelligence, the exams will run from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. This extensive schedule reflects the CBSE’s commitment to covering a broad academic spectrum, accommodating a diverse student body during these supplementary assessments.

Students are expected to be properly prepared for these examinations by reviewing their respective subjects and utilising the additional time for paper reading effectively. The structured schedule aims to facilitate thorough examination management.

Examination Guidelines and Instructions

Candidates participating in the Class 12 supplementary exams are required to adhere to specific guidelines laid out by the CBSE. Students must report to their designated examination centres well ahead of the start time to ensure a smooth verification process. The possession of the admit card is crucial for entry into the examination room.

Furthermore, the CBSE has explicitly prohibited the use of mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and any electronic communication devices within the examination hall. This is part of a stringent policy to maintain discipline and integrity during the examinations.

It is important for students to comply with all instructions from the board on the day of the exam, which includes managing their time effectively during the allotted duration for each paper. The examinations are set to follow the strict timings mentioned in the datesheet and on the individual admit cards, as confirmed by Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj.
