The Hockey World Cup season is upon us as both men’s and women’s teams prepare for competition in the Netherlands and Belgium. Scheduled to commence on August 15, 2026, this event marks the first time since 1998 that both editions will be held simultaneously. The women’s final and the bronze medal match are set for August 29, while the men’s championship and third-place game will occur a day later.
This tournament promises to showcase some of the finest talents in hockey globally. In light of the evolving nature of the sport, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has made a significant adjustment to the tournament structure by eliminating the quarterfinals and adopting a new two-phase format.
