Bus Crash Near Kota Overbridge Leaves 3 Dead, 20 injured, Rescue Operation Lasts 2 Hours

In a tragic road accident in Kota district, Rajasthan, three passengers were killed on the spot, and 20 others were critically injured and are being treated in a nearby hospital. The accident happened early Thursday morning when a private bus carrying passengers overturned. The bus was en route to Madhya Pradesh from Ahmedabad, when it lost control and hit the divider near the Nayagaon overbridge. A police official confirmed that the accident caused the front windshield to shatter, throwing three passengers sitting in the cabin onto the road where they were run over by a speeding truck.

Upon receiving information about the accident, Kota City SP Tejaswini Gautam and Fire Officer Rakesh Vyas immediately reached the accident spot and launched the rescue operation. While three passengers died on the spot, many others were trapped inside the severely damaged bus. After two hours of effort, passengers were pulled out of the bus and shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Additional SP Dilip Saini shared that three passengers were killed on the spot, and 20 others are injured. The injured passengers were rushed to New Medical College Hospital in Kota, treatment is underway.

The cause of the accident is not yet confirmed; however, the preliminary finding suggests that the bus driver could have lost control due to the sudden appearance of cattle. Passenger details revealed that most of them were from Gwalior and Bhind in Madhya Pradesh.
