After Missing Constable Post by 10 Seconds, Hardoi Farmer’s Daughter Becomes UP SI

The CSR Journal Magazine

Twenty-three-year-old Anjali, the daughter of a marginal farmer from Hardoi, faced a significant setback when she narrowly missed qualifying for the UP Police constable position due to exceeding the running test time by a mere ten seconds. However, she transformed this disappointment into unwavering determination, ultimately achieving her goal of becoming a Sub-Inspector in the Uttar Pradesh Police.

Hailing from Khutehna village, Anjali grew up in a farming family with limited resources. Her father, Ram Murti, cultivates leased land, striving to provide for four children—two sons and two daughters. The aspiration for Anjali to join the police force had always been a shared dream with her father, motivating her throughout her educational journey.

Despite the hardships, Anjali balanced her studies and family responsibilities. Her preparation for the police recruitment exam took place at the Manthan Coaching Institute in Hardoi. Anjali has expressed that the encouragement from her teachers played a crucial role during her preparation, helping her maintain focus even during challenging times.

Persistent Hard Work Yields Success

After her unsuccessful attempt at the UP Police Constable recruitment in 2024, Anjali did not let the disqualification deter her spirit. She emphasised that missing the running test by ten seconds was a turning point that strengthened her resolve to succeed. Instead of dwelling on her failure, she redirected her efforts towards preparing for the Sub-Inspector recruitment examination.

Anjali reiterated her dedication to her studies, stating that she pursued her training diligently, driven by her self-confidence and ambition. Her consistent efforts bore fruit when she successfully cleared the UP Police SI recruitment examination in 2025, fulfilling the dream she had passionately worked towards.

In addition to her remarkable achievement, Anjali maintains an impressive academic record, securing 71 per cent in her High School in 2018 and 73 per cent in Intermediate in 2020, both from Dayanand Inter College, Sursa. She later completed her Bachelor’s degree from R Kanya Degree College in Hardoi city.

Anjali’s Legacy and Future Aspirations

Anjali credits her success to the unwavering support of her family, especially her parents and teachers, expressing gratitude to those who stood by her throughout her journey. She dedicated her success to her family, highlighting the vital role of encouragement in achieving one’s goals. Her story serves as an inspiration to many aspirants, reinforcing the belief that clarity of purpose and hard work can lead to success.

Now, with the title of Sub-Inspector, Anjali stands as a symbol of perseverance for her community, inspiring others to pursue their dreams irrespective of obstacles. Her journey from narrowly missing a constable position to achieving a higher rank in the police service exemplifies the saying that determination and resilience can turn adversity into opportunity.

Anjali’s achievement has brought immense pride to her family, village, and coaching institute. As a role model, she continues to encourage young individuals to remain dedicated to their goals and work diligently, fostering a sense of hope and aspiration across her community.
