Banerjee is additionally accused of showing disrespect toward Union Minister Bhupender Yadav during the parliamentary sitting.Responding to the allegations of repeated misconduct against female colleagues, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal moved a formal resolution regarding parliamentary discipline. The House subsequently voted by majority to execute Banerjee’s suspension for the duration of the current session.

Commenting on the disciplinary measure, fellow politician Shatabdi Roy openly condemned Banerjee’s history of outbursts: “This is a recurring pattern for him. He routinely mistreats people and uses unacceptable language toward women. Concerns were previously reported to party leadership, yet his behavior only worsened. Female members do not condone this, and we appreciate the Speaker’s swift intervention.” In contrast, Kunal Ghosh offered a firm defense of Banerjee’s stance, targeting internal critics instead: “These individuals secured their 2024 parliamentary seats under Mamata Banerjee’s banner on an anti-BJP ticket. Turning against the party halfway through a term ending in 2029 is betrayal. If Kalyan Banerjee confronted them, his position was entirely warranted.”
