The business owners, identified as Shirish, Shashikumar, and Suresh, suffered significant losses as their goods were consumed by the flames. The combined value of the destroyed items is estimated to be several lakhs of rupees. This incident has raised concerns within the local business community regarding fire safety and emergency preparedness.

Previous Fire Incident in Shivamogga

This fire incident in Chikkaballapur is not isolated. Just days earlier, on July 19, a massive fire occurred at a paper packaging factory located in the Old Mandli Industrial area of Shivamogga city. The fire at the factory was reportedly responsible for destroying packaging materials worth crores of rupees.

More than 25 personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services were deployed to manage the situation at the factory. Firefighting operations continued for over an hour as teams worked to bring the fire under control. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties among the workforce, which numbers over 400 employees.

The factory has been in operation for approximately 40 years and was owned by a businessman based in Mumbai, named Zakir Hajibhai. The sudden fire raised alarm in the area, prompting discussions about safety precautions within industrial operations and the need for stringent fire regulations.
