SRM University-AP in Amaravati has notably advanced its research initiatives by securing 24 research and consultancy projects since January 2026. The total funding obtained amounts to Rs. 13.71 crores, reflecting the university’s commitment to fostering innovation across various disciplines. The grants are sourced from renowned organisations such as the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

This achievement is attributed to the efforts of 26 faculty members who received grants, underscoring the institution’s position as a leader in research. The projects cover a wide range of topics, including advanced materials, biosciences, waste management, and interdisciplinary studies in literature and mathematics.

Among the funded projects, one focused on genomic surveillance-driven phage therapy received the highest allocation of Rs. 1.76 crores. Another project, a collaboration between India and France concerning plasmid-mediated phage resistance, was awarded Rs. 99.9 lakhs. Such funding not only enhances the university’s research capabilities but also addresses pertinent scientific challenges.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Ch Satish Kumar, expressed pride in the faculty members for their dedication and success in obtaining these competitive research grants.
