Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha reported a meaningful interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 8, 2026. He expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister, highlighting the session as detailed and enriching. Through a post on X, Chadha noted the importance of the meeting and how it provided him with valuable insights. He stated that the morning would be one he would cherish for a long time.

Chadha, who recently transitioned from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), attended this meeting following a significant change in his political alignment. His remarks implied an appreciation for the guidance he received from PM Modi during their engagement.

Earlier, on August 7, Prime Minister Modi convened a breakfast meeting with over 40 MPs from National Democratic Alliance (NDA) constituents, further setting the stage for cooperative dialogue among party members. This meeting included MPs from various backgrounds, including those formerly aligned with the Trinamool Congress and Shiv Sena.

Discussion Topics at the Breakfast Meeting

The gathering saw discussions revolving around the ongoing Monsoon session of Parliament, which has faced multiple disruptions. Shiv Sena MP Jyoti Waghmare remarked on PM Modi’s emphasis on the need for smooth parliamentary operations. She conveyed that the Prime Minister expressed concern about the interruptions caused by the Opposition, which she claimed hinder opportunities for new and talented MPs.

Waghmare noted that the Prime Minister’s engagement during the meeting resembled that of a family member, providing valuable advice on legislative matters. To commemorate National Handloom Day, she presented a specially embroidered chadar to PM Modi, thereby highlighting the day’s significance.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde attended the breakfast and described the atmosphere as cordial. He reported that the discussion encompassed the development of Maharashtra and the local rainfall situation, indicating a personal touch from PM Modi who showed interest in state affairs.

Reactions from MPs and Insights Shared

NCPI MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar expressed appreciation for PM Modi’s warm welcome, noting the Prime Minister’s inclusive approach toward legislators associated with the NDA. She highlighted his focus on unity and collaboration for the development of West Bengal and the eastern states of India.

Another NCPI MP, Sudip Bandyopadhyay, indicated that discussions included the aspirations for the development of the North-East region, aligning with PM Modi’s vision. Rachna Banerjee, also from NCPI, described the meeting as fruitful and remarked on the honour of being invited, asserting that their interactions would remain a cherished memory.

During the breakfast, PM Modi shared personal and political experiences, emphasising the significance of commitment and punctuality. AAP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal noted that the Prime Minister advised engaging with students and youth by prioritising listening over speaking, thereby endorsing an approach of understanding before communicating.
