Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Param Pragya facility, an advanced AI-powered supercomputing centre located at the Sonipat Campus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi on August 8. This state-of-the-art facility is anticipated to significantly bolster the institute’s capabilities in artificial intelligence, data science, advanced computing, and interdisciplinary research, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.

The establishment of Param Pragya marks a considerable milestone in the journey of IIT Delhi towards becoming a leader in technological and scientific advancements. 57th Convocation Ceremony of IIT Delhi

In conjunction with the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi participated in the 57th Convocation Ceremony, where he presented numerous prestigious awards, including the President’s Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medal, Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal, and Perfect Ten Gold Medals to outstanding students. This year’s ceremony saw the conferral of degrees to over 3000 graduates, including 587 doctoral scholars.

Significant dignitaries attended the ceremony, including Harish Salve, the Chairperson of the Board of Governors for IIT Delhi, and the institute’s Director, Professor Rangan Banerjee, who expressed their appreciation for the Prime Minister’s attendance and support. The event underscored the achievements of both the institute and its graduates, highlighting the contributions they will make to society.

As part of his address to the gathering, PM Modi acknowledged the hard work and dedication shown by the graduating class while encouraging them to apply their knowledge and skills towards the betterment of the nation. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi’s Remarks
