A 26-year-old makeup artist has tragically died by suicide at her rented home in Vrindavan Colony, under the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station in Etawah. The individual, Komal Mishra, reportedly took her own life on the night of July 20, following what has been described as prolonged mental harassment by four former colleagues, as stated by officials. Mishra recorded a final video on her mobile device before her death, wherein she named two women and two men as responsible for her distress, while exonerating her husband from any involvement.

Details of the Case

According to Saurabh Dwivedi, Mishra’s husband, his wife was previously engaged in collaborative work with the four named individuals from Kanpur, primarily in the fields of event management and beautician services. Dwivedi asserted that the alleged harassment stemmed from unresolved issues that dated back to before their marriage. In her final video, Mishra clearly indicated that her husband was innocent, urging that the authorities pursue stringent legal measures against those she accused.

Upon returning home, Dwivedi found his wife hanging. He quickly enlisted the help of neighbours to rush her to the nearest district hospital; however, medical personnel declared her dead upon arrival. The severity of the incident has prompted local authorities to take immediate action.

The Civil Lines police have commenced an inquest and post-mortem examination in response to the incident. Authorities confiscated Mishra’s mobile phone along with digital evidence found at the scene. Circle Officer (Sadar), Avneesh Kumar Singh, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, focusing on the circumstances surrounding the case.

Investigation and Official Response

Circle Officer Avneesh Kumar Singh noted that the Civil Lines police were alerted about the suicide on the evening of July 20. Following this notification, the police secured the body and initiated inquest proceedings, along with the post-mortem examination. Singh highlighted that the video detailing Mishra’s allegations of harassment had been brought to their attention through her husband. He confirmed that a formal complaint, known as a tehreer, from Dwivedi would form the basis for registering an official case.

The police are currently in the process of verifying the authenticity of the video recording, which contains serious allegations against the four individuals named by Mishra. A thorough investigation is underway to ascertain the validity of her claims and the broader circumstances surrounding her untimely death.
