An Intermediate second-year student at a Government Junior College in Kothapalli village, located within Jogulamba Gadwal district, has reportedly died by suicide. The incident occurred on July 30, 2026, and has garnered significant attention from the community and authorities alike.

The student, identified as Tarun, allegedly took his own life by hanging at his residence. According to local police, Tarun left behind a suicide note in which he explicitly cited his teacher, Shirisha, as the reason for his distress. The note suggested that the teacher had reprimanded him over his exam marks, leading to his tragic decision.

A police official mentioned that the investigation is currently ongoing, stating, “The deceased, identified as Tarun, allegedly died by suicide by hanging. In the note, he blamed his teacher Shirisha for scolding him over exam results. We have registered a case and are investigating the matter. The body has been shifted for post-mortem examination.”

Following the discovery of Tarun’s body, family members and relatives expressed their grief and anger by staging a protest demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. They have called for accountability from the educational institution and the teacher involved.

Previous Incident Raises Concerns

This incident is not isolated, as an earlier report on July 3 mentioned another tragic occurrence involving a 26-year-old woman named Renuka. She was found dead by hanging in a hotel under the jurisdiction of the Langer Houz police station in Hyderabad. Renuka had checked into the hotel with her boyfriend, Farukh, that evening.

According to police sources, Renuka had been in a relationship with Farukh for six months, following their initial meeting at a pub. It was reported that she had previously been married and had a seven-year-old son, but was living separately from her husband. In the hours leading up to her death, Renuka reportedly ordered food with Farukh before he left to attend a function.

Officials stated that around 12:30 AM, Renuka made a video call to a friend, mentioning that her birthday was the next day. Disturbingly, she later took her own life in the hotel room. The two incidents underscore the pressing need for better mental health awareness and support systems for individuals facing emotional and psychological challenges.
