Addressing the media at the IBCA pre-summit event, Yadav stated, “We are all fortunate that under the leadership of PM Modi, many experiments are being carried out regarding biodiversity and are also getting success.” His remarks underscored the collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing environmental conservation across the state.

Yadav highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is focusing particularly on river ecosystems, reaffirming its commitment to the conservation of the Ganga. He stated, “Madhya Pradesh is also working on a large scale regarding the conservation of the Ganga.” This effort aligns with broader initiatives aimed at protecting crucial water bodies nationwide.

International Summit Rescheduled Amid Health Concerns

Meanwhile, the First International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) Summit, originally set to occur in New Delhi on June 1, has been postponed due to the deferment of the Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS IV). This decision is linked to the recent Ebola outbreak in Africa, and aligns with the need for ensuring public health and safety.

Initially, the IBCA Summit was planned in conjunction with IAFS IV, recognising that several African countries play a vital role in big cat conservation efforts and ecological sustainability. The summit reflects the importance of international collaboration in biodiversity protection.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the postponement was made following consultations with the Chairperson of the African Union and the African Union Commission. Further updates will be provided as details emerge about the rescheduled event.
