In a chilling case of betrayal and conspiracy, the body of 60-year-old Bhaiyalal Rajak was found dumped in a well in Sakaria village, Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh. His remains were discovered on August 31, tightly wrapped in blankets, sacks, and sarees, and bound with rope. What initially seemed like a routine murder case soon unfolded into a disturbing plot fueled by lust and betrayal.

A Complex Family Dynamic with a Deadly Secret

Bhaiyalal Rajak had been married three times. His first wife left him, and his second wife, Guddi Bai, could not bear children. In pursuit of an heir, Bhaiyalal married Guddi’s younger sister, Munni alias Vimla, with whom he fathered two children. However, behind this unconventional family setup lay a dangerous secret, Munni’s affair with a local property dealer, Narayan Das Kushwaha, also known as Lallu.

Murder Conspired by Wife and Her Lover

According to police, Munni and Lallu’s relationship escalated into a plot to eliminate Bhaiyalal. To carry out the murder, Lallu enlisted a 25-year-old labourer, Dheeraj Kol. In the early hours of August 30, while Bhaiyalal was asleep on a cot at his under-construction house, the two men bludgeoned him to death with an iron rod.

After the killing, they wrapped the body in sacks and blankets, tied it securely with ropes and sarees, and dumped it into a nearby well, hoping to conceal the crime.

Murder Uncovered by Second Wife’s Discovery

Their plan began to unravel when Guddi Bai, Bhaiyalal’s second wife, spotted something unusual floating in the well the next morning. To her horror, it was her husband’s lifeless body. Authorities were immediately alerted, and the well was drained. Police not only recovered Bhaiyalal’s body but also found his mobile phone, which helped piece together the timeline of the murder.

Superintendent of Police Moti Ur Rehman told reporters, “The body of the victim Bhaiyalal Rajak was found tied with sacks in a well. He had three marriages. The third wife, Munni alias Vimla Rajak, was in an illicit relationship with Narayan Das Kushwaha alias Lallu. Along with labourer Dheeraj Kol, they killed him by hitting him with a rod and threw the body into the well. The mobile phone was also recovered.”

Police Crack Case Within 36 Hours

A postmortem confirmed that Bhaiyalal had died from severe head injuries. Within 36 hours, the Anuppur Kotwali police cracked the case. Superintendent of Police Moti Ur Rehman confirmed that Munni, her lover Lallu, and the hired labourer Dheeraj had orchestrated and executed the murder.

All three accused were arrested and are now in police custody. The incident has shocked the village and highlighted a deadly web of betrayal hidden behind a fragile domestic arrangement.
