Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has alleged a collusion between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). This assertion was made during an interview with ANI following a party meeting in Moga on August 5. Warring stated that the Congress party is preparing to strengthen its grassroots level presence ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.

During his comments, Warring expressed confidence that Congress would emerge victorious in the upcoming elections, highlighting a campaign initiative named “Har Booth Congress Mazboot.” He mentioned the importance of vigilance at the polling booths to mitigate potential issues from the alleged collusion between BJP and AAP.

“It was a productive meeting. We are mobilising our workers and alerting the public to remain observant during the elections,” Warring added, reiterating that the party is well-prepared to form the government in Punjab during the 2027 elections.

Enthusiasm Among Congress Workers in Moga Meeting

Following the meeting in Moga, Raja Warring took to social media to commend the spirit of Congress workers who attended the gathering. He described the engagement as heartening, stating that he witnessed immense energy, passion, and a collective determination among the attendees, which he considered pivotal to the movement’s grassroots foundation.

Warring further remarked that the support seen in Moga is a testament to Congress’s strength at every booth. He emphasised that the party’s workers are integral to its identity and expressed that the message from Moga was clear: Congress is ready for the elections and so is Punjab.

Adding to the enthusiasm, Warring noted that the grassroots movement is not just an organisational effort, but rather a significant movement rising from the local level, showcasing the commitment among members to advocate for their constituents.

Punjab Congress Responds to Infighting Allegations

In response to claims of internal discord within the Punjab Congress, party MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa reaffirmed the unity of the party. He asserted that any differences that may have arisen have been resolved and stressed that Congress is positioned to win in the next elections.

Randhawa remarked, “There is no infighting in Punjab. I can assure you, we are united. The BJP and AAP will not come to power; it will be Congress.” This statement aims to quell any concerns about the party’s coherence as the elections approach.

In contrast, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema indicated that the Congress party is experiencing a wave of defections, challenging its stability. He cited the AAP’s initiatives regarding job creation and detailed the employment opportunities that the government has provided for the youth of Punjab.

Furthermore, AAP leader and Punjab Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO criticised Congress for what he perceived as a lack of constructive participation in the Assembly. ETO argued that Congress has been disengaged, often staging walkouts instead of constructive debate, which he suggested undermines their role as the opposition.

He claimed that AAP remains dedicated to serving the public and responding to questions posed in the Assembly, insisting that Congress’s portrayal of the situation is misleading.
