The CSR Journal Magazine

KisaanSay, a brand oriented towards supporting farmers, will host KisaanSay Samagam 2026, an event dedicated to celebrating the hard work and achievements of farmers across India. Scheduled to take place with various activities, this annual gathering aims to acknowledge the integral role of farmers in the country’s food production system. According to founder Nitin Puri, the gathering is designed to highlight the critical contributions of farmers, who are central to KisaanSay’s mission.

Puri stated that KisaanSay’s business model aims to add value for farmers while providing consumers with authentic food products sourced directly from the fields. The platform emphasises traditional and indigenous produce, which supports not just local farmer livelihoods but also the principles of biodiversity and sustainable agriculture. He remarked that farmers are essential stakeholders whose welfare ensures better quality products for consumers and enhanced livelihoods for farming communities.

The two-day event is structured to provide farmers with market insights through various initiatives, enabling them to explore how their products are identified, marketed, and sold in retail environments. This not only equips them with knowledge of the consumer journey but also illustrates the value chain linking their produce to urban markets.

Panel Discussions and Notable Speakers

The main conference will be held at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi on the second day, featuring a range of speakers from diverse sectors related to agriculture and food systems. The inaugural session will showcase experts such as agricultural economist Dr. Ashok Gulati, acclaimed for his insights into food policy, and Dr. Ram Chet Chaudhary, renowned for his work in revitalising the esteemed Kala Namak rice from eastern Uttar Pradesh. Other confirmed speakers include government officials and former leaders in the agricultural sector, highlighting the depth of expertise present at the event.

A significant focus of the conference will be a dedicated session on women’s empowerment, addressing the pivotal role women play in farmer-led enterprises. Vaishali Puri, Co-founder of KisaanSay, will lead this panel featuring women from Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) across various states, thereby showcasing their contributions and experiences in agriculture. The discussion will be moderated by journalist Anupama Bhonsle and will revolve around “Women Empowerment Through Women-Led Enterprise”.

Additionally, the event will include an awards ceremony to honour outstanding Farmer Producer Companies within the KisaanSay network. At present, KisaanSay collaborates with 25 FPCs across ten states, with a significant number being women-led organisations. Over fifty per cent of the membership in this network comprises women farmers, exhibiting KisaanSay’s commitment to fostering inclusive rural entrepreneurship.

Collaborative Market Models and Future Prospects

Nitin Puri articulated that the KisaanSay Samagam 2026 serves not just as a celebration but also as a platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing among farmers and market players. By employing a co-branding and co-profit approach, KisaanSay aims to tackle pressing challenges within India’s food ecosystem. These include ensuring the authenticity of food products linked to their geographic origins and enhancing farmers’ livelihoods.

Puri elaborated that each product embodies a unique story and regional significance. The mission of KisaanSay is to engage consumers with authentic food while guaranteeing fair value for farmers. The event aims to solidify the connection between these stakeholders and build a larger movement towards improved farmer prosperity, sustainable agricultural practices, and healthier food systems.

As discussions around farmer incomes and food authenticity gain momentum in India, KisaanSay Samagam 2026 intends to illustrate how cooperative and market-driven models can generate shared benefits for farmers, consumers, and the overarching agricultural framework.
