Infosys To Implement Salary Increases Starting October

The CSR Journal Magazine

Infosys has announced that it will commence salary hikes for employees later this year, according to CEO Salil Parekh. These increments are set to be rolled out in three distinct phases across October and January. During a press conference following the company’s first-quarter results, Parekh mentioned that the majority of employees will see their salary revisions in October, while those in senior positions will receive theirs in January.

The company has not disclosed the exact percentage increase for the salary hikes. However, it confirmed that the changes will be implemented in phases, tailored to various employee groups. This announcement follows the release of Infosys’s financial results for the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27.

Commitment To Hire 20,000 Freshers

In addition to the salary announcements, Infosys reiterated its dedication to campus recruitment, planning to hire 20,000 fresh graduates across the ongoing financial year. This recruitment drive aims to bolster the workforce with new talent and ideas. The company reported that it had already onboarded over 4,000 freshers in the first quarter from April to June.

This recruitment initiative aligns with the company’s strategic goals to maintain a robust workforce amid evolving technological landscapes. Infosys is focusing on integrating fresh talent to complement its ongoing projects and to drive innovation within the organisation.

As the technological landscape continues to evolve, Infosys’s hiring strategy aims to equip the company with the necessary skills to tackle future challenges. This initiative reflects the firm’s confidence in the expanding digital services market.

Workforce Stability Amid Rising Attrition

Despite a slight increase in employee attrition, Infosys’s workforce has largely remained stable. The attrition rate for the company’s IT services over the last twelve months was recorded at 13 per cent, a modest rise from 12.6 per cent in the previous quarter. This indicates some challenges in retaining talent, a trend observed in the broader industry.

As of June 30, the employee headcount stood at 3,28,062, a minor decrease from 3,28,594 at the end of March. This slight reduction suggests a strategic management of the workforce, which remains a pivotal part of the organisation’s operations.

Notably, artificial intelligence continues to play a significant role in the company’s offerings, contributing 8.2 per cent to total revenue during the latest quarter, compared to 5.5 per cent in the preceding December quarter. This reflects Infosys’s commitment to leveraging AI solutions as a core component of its business strategy.

Leadership Transition Announced

In conjunction with its quarterly results, Infosys disclosed a leadership transition, with Ashiss Kumar Dash being appointed as CEO-designate. He is set to take over as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director in April 2027 when the current term of Salil Parekh concludes.

This change in leadership is anticipated to bring new perspectives to the company as it continues to adapt to changing market dynamics. The Board’s decision suggests a strategic approach to ensure continuity while fostering innovation within the organisation.

The upcoming months will be crucial for Infosys as it works to implement these salary increases and recruitment efforts while navigating the competitive landscape of the IT sector.
