Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary convened a high-level strategic meeting on August 14, 2026, at the ‘Sankalp’ auditorium within Lok Sevak Awas. The primary agenda was to discuss a proposal for constructing a World Trade Centre in Patna. This administrative gathering aimed to facilitate planned enhancements for the capital city’s infrastructure while also assessing various legacy government properties for potential redevelopment.

In a post shared on X, Chief Minister Choudhary elaborated on the meeting’s key points and reiterated the significance of the proposed World Trade Centre. He described the discussions as pivotal in driving comprehensive and planned development for Patna. According to his statement, “A proposal for the construction of a World Trade Centre in Patna has come forward,” indicating a crucial step toward modernising the city’s economic landscape.

Additionally, the Chief Minister highlighted ambitions to implement advanced technological and ecological standards in the city’s redevelopment. He expressed a commitment to “giving a new momentum to Patna as a modern and developed city” that applies modern technology alongside environmental considerations, particularly through initiatives like the ‘Zero Waste Model.’

Celebrating Independence Ahead of the Meeting

The Tiranga rally underscored the government’s efforts to foster civic engagement and patriotism among the citizens of Bihar ahead of this significant national holiday. Such events are aimed at enhancing public involvement in patriotic activities, thereby unifying the community around national identity and heritage.

The day’s ceremonies were complemented by institutional reviews where various development strategies were highlighted, showcasing the government’s commitment to not only symbolically but also practically enhance the state’s profile.

Focus on Fisheries Development with Vision 2030

On August 10, 2026, CM Choudhary also presided over a review of the ‘Vision 2030 – Bihar Fisheries Priority Projects.’ This meeting addressed the pressing need to position Bihar as a leading state in inland fish farming. The discussions underscored key objectives aimed at increasing fish production, enhancing employment opportunities, and propelling the ‘Blue Economy,’ as detailed in a press release.

During this meeting, Shrisat Kapil Ashok, Secretary of the Dairy, Fisheries, and Animal Resources Department, presented a roadmap projected under ‘Vision 2030.’ The framework aims for sustainable development and value-added initiatives in the fisheries sector. It includes plans for developing approximately 1,848.75 hectares of direct intervention area along with a broader impact area of 9,357 hectares across eight priority projects.

The overall goal set forth involves achieving a production target of 50,200 metric tons of fish while enhancing the economic conditions for local fishing communities. The Chief Minister urged officials to expedite action plans and establish clear strategies that incorporate modern techniques for fish production. He also underscored the importance of empowering Fisherman Cooperative Societies to bolster skill development and fiscal management to improve their overall economic status.

These initiatives under ‘Vision 2030’ are intended to facilitate greater income for farmers and fishermen, creating job opportunities while reinforcing Bihar’s rural economy. The focus on increasing the overall value chain from production to market is crucial to realising the vast potential within the fisheries sector.
