Dharmendra Pradhan submitted his resignation with the intention of ensuring that the ongoing protests would not be misused by forces seeking to destabilise national unity. These demands include compensation of Rs 1 crore for families of students who have died by suicide due to examination issues, assurances against punitive action for student demonstrators, and accountability for Delhi Police personnel accused of using excessive force during the protests.
