An eyewitness has attributed the fatal accident in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, on July 25, to alleged negligence by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). The incident involved a 20-year-old man, Yashvendra, who reportedly lost control of his vehicle on a slippery road, which caused him to fall into a drain and subsequently overturn. Yashvendra was noted to be the son of an officer serving in the Indian Army, while the female co-passenger is a local resident, her father working in cybersecurity at a private firm in Okhla and her mother being a homemaker.
