Driver Alleges Siya Took Item from Cab Ahead of Ketan’s Missing Passport

The CSR Journal Magazine

The cab driver, Vaibhav Jadhav, who transported Ketan Agrawal and the accused Siya Goyal to Mumbai Airport, has made significant claims regarding their journey. Jadhav stated that Siya requested him to stop the vehicle on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. During this stop, she reportedly opened the boot and removed something from her purse before they continued towards the airport, where Ketan’s passport would later be reported missing.

According to Jadhav, he picked up Ketan and Siya, along with her brother Sahil, from Pune around 10 am. He noted that Siya was initially reluctant to enter the cab, asserting that her brother had to encourage her to do so. Subsequently, Ketan boarded the vehicle in Ravet, and they resumed their journey.

While on the expressway, Jadhav recounted that Siya asked to stop at a food mall for tea. She returned to the cab approximately ten minutes later and requested that he open the boot. It was at that moment, Jadhav claims, that she retrieved an unidentified item from her purse located in the boot area.

Concerns Raised Over the Missing Passport

After Jadhav dropped off all passengers at Mumbai Airport, he received a call shortly thereafter, informing him of a small bag left inside the cab. He stated he was approximately 200 metres away and promptly returned to deliver the bag. However, just another 500 metres down the road, he received another call indicating that Ketan’s passport had been left in the vehicle.

Upon checking, Jadhav informed them that the passport was not present. He asserted that he had thoroughly examined the vehicle. They then requested a video call to verify the cab’s interior, but the passport was still unaccounted for. After returning to the airport, Ketan and Sahil undertook their own search of the vehicle, but their efforts to locate the passport were unsuccessful.

Throughout the journey from Pune to Ravet, Jadhav described the interactions between Siya and Sahil as contentious, which he interpreted as an ongoing argument. He reiterated the moment when Siya took something from the boot but maintained he did not know what the object was.

Investigations into Ketan Agrawal’s Circumstances

The investigation into the disappearance of Ketan’s passport has intensified, especially with the impending trip to Bali for a pre-wedding shoot, which was ultimately cancelled. This incident has raised serious concerns regarding a potential conspiracy linked to Ketan’s tragic death. According to police reports, Ketan’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, allegedly played a role in the alleged destruction of the passport, which was described as part of a broader plan.

Ketan and Siya, who became engaged in February, were scheduled to fly from Mumbai to Bali on 6 June. The trip was abruptly stopped when Ketan realised his passport was missing upon their arrival at the airport. His father, Vishal Agrawal, documented the circumstances of the passport’s disappearance as suspicious, noting that all necessary documents were checked before they left for the airport.

Police inquiries later suggested that Siya may have torn up Ketan’s passport and disposed of it in a hotel restroom during a stop for breakfast prior to reaching the airport. On Sunday, investigators took Siya Goyal to Lohagad Fort for a reconstruction of the events, reportedly using a dummy to simulate the circumstances surrounding Ketan’s death.
