Donald Trump Calls Iran’s Response To US Peace Proposal ‘Totally Unacceptable’

The CSR Journal Magazine

US President Donald Trump has voiced strong dissatisfaction regarding Iran’s response to a recent proposal aimed at fostering peace and diminishing hostilities in the Gulf region. In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump described the reply from Tehran as “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.” This expression of discontent follows Iran’s submission of its response to the US proposal via Pakistani intermediaries.

While announcing his disapproval, Trump advised that he was unfavourable toward the reaction received from what he referred to as Iran’s “so-called Representatives.” The tension surrounding this interaction highlights the ongoing complexities of negotiations between the two nations amid escalating security concerns in West Asia.

The Iranian state media reported this development, indicating that Tehran had reviewed the US’s latest proposal before dispatching its response, a process that had been articulated by an official spokesperson from Iran’s Foreign Ministry.

Details of Iran’s Response to US Proposal

The Iranian draft allegedly includes demands aimed at the United States, requesting a complete lifting of sanctions imposed on Iran, an end to the blockade of Iranian ports, and the withdrawal of US forces from the region. Additionally, Iran insists that hostilities must cease entirely, including calls to halt Israel’s military actions in Lebanon.

This diplomatic effort comes amid deteriorating security conditions in the region, with Iran recently warning the US that it may alter its strategy of restraint regarding military responses. The warning coincided with reports of new maritime and territorial conflicts affecting Gulf nations.

The state-run IRNA news agency further explained that the objective of these negotiations would focus primarily on concluding the ongoing war in the region, reflecting a significant escalation in the diplomatic dialogue between Iran and the United States.

Trump’s Assertions on Military Readiness and Surveillance

In an interview that aired on the same day, Trump maintained that the United States is closely monitoring Iran’s uranium enrichment activities. He issued a stark warning that any attempts to access these facilities would provoke immediate military action. Trump characterised Iran’s military capabilities as severely compromised, claiming the country has been fundamentally weakened and unable to project power effectively.

He stated that Iran currently lacks a formidable navy, air force, and any significant anti-aircraft systems. According to Trump, the country is now hindered by its dilapidated infrastructure; he estimated that, should the US withdraw its military presence, Iran would need roughly 20 years to rebuild its capabilities.

Discussing the current military engagement of US forces, Trump suggested that operations are not yet concluded, estimating that US efforts have destroyed around 70 per cent of their intended targets, indicating the possibility of further military initiatives in the future.

Reiterating his longstanding objections to Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Trump asserted the necessity for the international community to prevent what he termed the “crazy” regime from acquiring nuclear weapons, underscoring the serious implications of Tehran’s nuclear programme on global security.
