An Ahmedabad businessman has taken legal action against his wife of 27 years, alleging that she is involved in an extramarital affair with a man she encountered at a gym. The husband claims to have gathered evidence of their supposed relationship by secretly recording conversations within their home, prompted by changes in her behaviour that raised his suspicions.

The court has responded to the complaint by instructing the local Cyber Crime Police Station to investigate the allegations thoroughly. Authorities have been given 30 days to submit a detailed report on the findings related to this case.

According to the complainant, the relationship between his wife and the alleged lover reportedly began as a friendship but evolved into a romantic involvement. He asserts that their interactions included frequent visits to their home in his absence, as well as ongoing communication via phone and video calls.

Alleged Evidence and Threats Uncovered

Building upon this, the man also stated that he monitored the two during various outings, reportedly discovering them together in a car during one such occasion. Alarmed by the potential removal of valuables held in a jointly operated bank locker under his wife’s name, he sought a civil court order to freeze access to the locker to prevent any unauthorised withdrawals.

In an alarming twist, the complainant alleges that after the locker was sealed, his wife’s paramour contacted him, demanding he surrender the audio recordings and settle the matter amicably. Reportedly, the man threatened the husband with legal repercussions involving a significant financial dispute worth Rs 1 crore if he failed to comply with these demands.

The husband expressed to the court that the entire episode has severely impacted his mental health, leading to distress and depression. He also noted that the situation has caused embarrassment for his family, adding another layer of emotional strain to the ordeal.

In his pursuit of justice, the man claimed that previous complaints lodged with the police and cybercrime authorities had not resulted in any action, prompting him to seek further legal remedies. The court’s recent order for an investigation signifies a new development in the case, as officials prepare to delve deeper into the allegations of infidelity and the associated threats.
