Apple Set to Launch Entry-Level MacBook Pro and New iPad Pro in Early 2027

The CSR Journal Magazine

Apple may be preparing for a significant product rollout in the first half of 2027. A recent report from Bloomberg indicates that the company plans to introduce a redesigned entry-level MacBook Pro alongside a new line of iPad Pro models as early as spring 2027. This development marks an expansion of Apple’s existing Mac and iPad offerings during a period when the organisation is also finalising its upcoming M7 processor.

The report outlines that Apple is currently testing four new models of the iPad Pro while working on a refreshed 14-inch entry-level MacBook Pro. However, it also warns that these plans may be subject to change as Apple navigates ongoing memory and silicon supply challenges.

Details on the New iPad Pro Models

Insider sources suggest that the forthcoming iPad Pro variants will retain the existing 11-inch and 13-inch screen sizes rather than featuring a significant redesign. Instead, these new tablets are expected to offer enhanced internal specifications, boasting faster chips and superior overall performance. There have been discussions surrounding the implementation of a vapour chamber cooling system to help maintain performance levels and reduce overheating during intensive tasks.

The last refresh of the iPad Pro took place in October 2025, when Apple introduced the M5 chip. Although rumours of a foldable iPad Pro have circulated, the recent report clarifies that the new models are likely to be conventional updates rather than drastic innovations. Speculation persists regarding the potential use of M6 or M7 chips in the new devices; however, Bloomberg did not specify which processor will be employed.

Apple’s focus appears to be centred on internal upgrades rather than aesthetic changes for the iPad Pro line-up in early 2027. The company aims to maintain market competitiveness with enhanced features, even if these changes are not outwardly visible.

Redesign for the Entry-Level MacBook Pro

In contrast, the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro is anticipated to undergo a more significant redesign. Code-named K104, this new laptop is expected to be unveiled in the first half of 2027. Reports indicate it will adopt a fresh design philosophy akin to Apple’s premium MacBook Pro models, which are reportedly set to include touch-screen displays.

Additionally, there are speculations regarding a pill-shaped camera cut-out that might be featured on future touch-screen MacBooks, reflecting design elements seen on newer iPhones. While it remains uncertain whether the entry-level MacBook Pro will possess these specific display innovations, the report does suggest it will align with the broader design language of Apple’s upcoming high-end models.

In the lead-up to this impending release, Apple has also completed work on another refreshed entry-level MacBook Pro, named J804, which is expected to launch later this year with the current design and base M6 chip. The anticipated K104 model would represent the first major design overhaul of Apple’s lower-end MacBook Pro in years, while still retaining its characteristic 14-inch display.

Strategic Moves and Future Outlook

In conjunction with these anticipated devices, Apple is reportedly accelerating its chip development timeline, gearing up for the introduction of its M7 processor in early 2027. This effort aims to better optimise Apple Silicon for demanding artificial intelligence applications. If Apple keeps to its proposed schedule, the new MacBook Pro and updated iPad Pro models could be released alongside various other products expected in 2027.

Among these products are speculated second-generation iPhone Air and entry-level iPhone 18. Although Apple has yet to officially announce these devices, early 2027 appears poised to be one of the company’s most active product release years.
