Vivo Expands X300 Series With Launch of X300 FE: Check Out Features Here

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Vivo X300 FE stands out within the X300 series, which also includes the X300 and X300 Pro, catering to photography enthusiasts. With a starting price of Rs 79,999, the X300 FE is positioned above the standard X300, despite the latter featuring a more powerful chipset. The FE is focused on delivering a unique photographic experience rather than solely emphasising specifications.

One of the standout features of the X300 FE is its compatibility with Vivo’s Telephoto Extender Kit, which enables long-range photography at a more accessible price point compared to higher-end models. While this add-on is sold separately, it enhances the device’s long-range capabilities, making it appealing to users who wish to explore telephoto photography without exceeding Rs 1 lakh.

The device reportedly excels in daylight conditions, capturing images with accurate white balance and vibrant colours. Users can quickly point and shoot, delivering close results to those taken with its more expensive counterparts. Movement in subjects is handled well, ensuring sharp details even when capturing dynamic scenes.

Design and Build Quality of the Vivo X300 FE

The “FE” designates the Fashion Edition of the X300, clearly evident in its aesthetics. The Urban Olive colour variant, characterised by its subtle yet premium finish, sets it apart from traditional black or silver phone options. The combination of a glass back and metal frame adds to its premium feel, while the matte finish reduces fingerprints and provides a comfortable grip.

Weighing 191g and measuring 7.99mm thick, the X300 FE is easy to handle despite housing a large 6,500mAh battery. The design also incorporates IP69 dust and water resistance, offering added durability. The camera module presents a modern look, though it does protrude slightly, keeping the phone stable on flat surfaces.

The thoughtful balance of size and battery capacity enhances user experience, making it practical for everyday use. The matte rear panel and flat frame ensure that it does not feel bulky, contributing to a refined overall design.

Display and Performance Quality

The Vivo X300 FE features a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display, presenting a resolution of 2640 x 1216 and a 120Hz refresh rate. This compact screen size strikes a balance between usability and high-quality performance, making it ideal for one-handed operation. The display supports HDR10+ for enhanced viewing experiences across streaming platforms.

In terms of performance, the X300 FE is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, providing a fast and smooth user experience. Benchmark scores, such as AnTuTu’s mark of approximately 2.8 million, indicate strong overall performance. However, while the device can handle daily tasks proficiently, it experiences thermal throttling during prolonged intensive use.

Real-world gaming performance, particularly with resource-heavy titles like Genshin Impact, shows promise for short to medium gaming sessions. Nonetheless, sustained heavy loads result in decreased performance, which may not be ideal for users whose primary focus is gaming.
