Inspection of Kedarnath Route by Superintendent of Police

Superintendent of Police Niharika Tomar undertook a thorough inspection of the Kedarnath pedestrian route to ascertain the effectiveness of these arrangements. This assessment involved a foot journey from Kedarnath Base Camp to Gaurikund, during which key locations such as Lincholi, Bhimbali, and Jungle Chatti were visited. The SP reviewed several crucial aspects, including security measures, traffic flow, and facilities designed to enhance the experience of the pilgrims.

During this on-site inspection, Tomar engaged directly with police personnel stationed at various locations to garner real-time feedback. She delivered essential directives aimed at improving the existing arrangements, ensuring that the concerns expressed by the travelers are adequately addressed. In her capacity, Tomar instructed all post in-charges to emphasise the safety of pilgrims along the routes leading to the Char Dham. Enhancements to medical assistance and emergency response systems were also mandated, allowing for rapid action in case of any unforeseen circumstances. Continuous vigilance among the police force was stressed, aimed at immediate assistance should an emergency arise, adding an additional layer of security.

The implementation of effective crowd management strategies and enhanced surveillance at sensitive locations have been marked as essential components of the overarching safety plan. Notably, in alignment with the directives from the Police Headquarters, SP Tomar has been stationed at Kedarnath Dham for the past six days. This consistent oversight has allowed for a dynamic approach to monitoring existing arrangements and implementing timely adjustments as required.
