The CSR Journal Magazine

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has opened the application process for 47 positions spanning various central ministries. This recruitment initiative is detailed under Advertisement No. 082026 and aims to fill a range of permanent roles, catering to specialisations such as healthcare, law, and scientific research. Interested individuals can apply through the UPSC’s online platform until the deadline of July 31, 2026.

Among the positions available, the health sector plays a prominent role, as the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has announced 37 vacancies for Specialist Grade III Assistant Professors. These roles are intended for major medical institutions within Delhi, highlighting the government’s focus on enhancing healthcare services.

The specialised medical positions encompass a variety of fields. Notably, the vacancies include 13 for Neonatology, 10 for Endocrinology, 9 for Clinical Hematology, 3 for Nuclear Medicine, 3 for Pulmonary Medicine, and 1 for Paediatric Cardiology. Additionally, there is an opening for a Surgical Gastroenterology Specialist, aimed at training future surgeons in this pivotal field.

Roles Beyond Healthcare

In addition to healthcare positions, the UPSC has also opened recruitment for essential roles within the government. The Ministry of Law and Justice is seeking a Superintendent (Legal) to oversee legislative drafting and statutory rules. Furthermore, the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) is on the lookout for a Prosecutor to address cases of corporate fraud.

Moreover, the Central Forensic Science Laboratory is recruiting for a Junior Scientific Officer in Toxicology, along with an Assistant Soil Chemist position under the Ministry of Agriculture. Furthermore, there are openings for experts at the National Centre for Vector Borne Diseases Control, thus ensuring a broad range of opportunities across different sectors.

These positions are classified as Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ Gazetted roles, reflecting their importance within the public sector. The competitive pay scales under the 7th Central Pay Commission have been established for these roles, which indicate a commitment to attracting qualified professionals.

Application Process and Key Deadlines

The UPSC has made the application process easier by introducing its Online Recruitment Application (ORA) platform. This initiative removes the requirement for physical documentation, necessitating prospective candidates to register on the UPSC website to obtain a Universal Registration Number (URN).

During the application, candidates must adhere to identity verification protocols, which include a mandatory live photograph captured via webcam. Additionally, candidates need to upload their signatures, which should be recorded three times on plain white paper, alongside required documents such as educational certificates and age proof.

For male applicants from General, OBC, and EWS categories, the application fee is Rs 25. However, there is an exemption for all female candidates as well as those belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories. The final deadline for submitting applications is 6 pm on July 31, 2026, with officials advising candidates to ensure their details are accurate, as there will be no opportunity for changes once the application is submitted.
