The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced the opening of 410 apprentice positions at the U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) in Bengaluru. This recruitment initiative aims to provide apprenticeship opportunities for graduates, diploma holders, and commerce students. Candidates interested in applying can do so online through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal.

The application process will remain available until August 29, 2026. This recruitment is seen as a significant chance for individuals seeking practical training in a premier space research environment.

Eligibility Criteria and Vacancy Breakdown

The apprenticeship openings are categorised into three groups: Graduate Apprentice, Technician Apprentice, and Commercial Apprentice. Eligible candidates include those with degrees or diplomas in relevant fields, as well as commerce students.

A breakdown of the vacancies is provided as follows: the Graduate Apprentice category has 220 positions, with a monthly stipend of Rs 12,300. The Technician Apprentice category includes 120 positions, offering a stipend of Rs 10,900. The Commercial Apprentice category has 70 openings, also providing a stipend of Rs 10,900. In total, this recruitment drive will fill 410 apprentice roles.

Once they find the relevant position, applicants need to fill out the application form accurately, upload necessary documents, and submit their applications. It is advisable for candidates to download and save the confirmation page for future reference after submission.

Selection Process and Important Notes

The selection for the apprenticeship positions will focus primarily on academic merit. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their marks in the qualifying degree or diploma examinations. Those who are shortlisted will receive invitations for document verification, after which a final merit list will be compiled based on the verified academic performance.

It is important to note that ISRO will not offer any travelling allowances for candidates who are called for document verification. This aspect may be crucial for those considering the financial implications of attending the verification sessions.
