Rajasthan’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has successfully seized drugs valued at over Rs 700 crore in the past ten months. This significant action is being described by officials as a record effort against narcotics trafficking within the state. The ANTF has been instrumental in targeting and addressing major trafficking routes that connect to states such as Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand.

Inspector General Vikas Kumar has reported that, in the previous year, the Rajasthan Police confiscated narcotics worth approximately Rs 850 crore under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Furthermore, projections suggest that the total amount seized this year could exceed Rs 1,000 crore, showcasing the aggressive measures being taken against drug-related crimes.

Key Drug Trafficking Operations

The operations carried out by the ANTF have yielded substantial results, including the recovery of over 360 kg of opium. In addition to the opium seizures, the task force has also dismantled 34 units allegedly involved in the manufacture of MD drugs throughout Rajasthan, resulting in the confiscation of more than 185 kg of this synthetic narcotic. These actions highlight the ongoing battle against the illegal drug trade within the region.

Authorities have reported that the operations extend beyond just seizures and involve stringent actions against illegal cultivation of opium and cannabis. This comprehensive approach is designed to disrupt local cultivation, which can contribute to larger trafficking networks and the supply chain of narcotics.

In collaboration with five other states and multiple central agencies, the ANTF has arrested 84 individuals alleged to be significant drug traffickers. Some of these arrested persons have been identified as long-sought criminals, demonstrating the efficiency and reach of the operation.

Public Appeal For Cooperation

Following the recent wave of arrests and seizures, Inspector General Vikas Kumar has made a public appeal for assistance from the community. He encouraged citizens to report any suspicions or information regarding drug trafficking and related illegal activities to the ANTF control room. To promote confidentiality, Kumar assured that the identities of those who provide tips would be kept secret.

This outreach is aimed at fostering greater collaboration between law enforcement and the public, reinforcing the importance of community involvement in combating drug-related crimes. Officials believe that collective efforts can further weaken the narcotics supply chain and strengthen the overall fight against trafficking in the state.
