Tripura BJP Initiates National Flag Distribution Drive for Independence Day

The CSR Journal Magazine

In the lead-up to Independence Day, the Tripura unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has commenced a flag distribution campaign aimed at raising awareness under the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative. Rajdeep Roy, the party’s state in-charge, announced this development on August 11, stating that the campaign entails disseminating the national flag throughout the state’s markets.

Roy further explained that the BJP is mobilising resources to ensure that the Tricolour reaches every household by organising Tiranga Yatras in the days preceding August 15. The party aims to ensure that the significance of the national flag is instilled in every citizen through direct engagement and community outreach initiatives.

The goal of the campaign is to have every household in India display the Tiranga, with a strong emphasis on educating the younger generation about the flag’s importance and the respect it merits. Roy highlighted the necessity of fostering a sense of patriotism and understanding concerning the national emblem among children and young people.

Educational Focus on the National Flag’s Significance

In his remarks, Roy underscored the importance of teaching children, particularly those under the age of 18, about the respect and dignity associated with the national flag. He has called for a collective effort to ensure that the upcoming generation understands the historical and cultural significance tied to the Tiranga.

Roy elaborated on the history of the national flag, noting the design by Pingali Venkayya in 1927, which was adopted by the Indian National Congress. He reiterated that this design remained unchanged when India attained independence in 1947, thereby affirming its value as a national symbol.

The campaign is reportedly supported by the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as the state government under Chief Minister Manik Saha. Roy expressed confidence that the current initiative will ensure the Tiranga is made available to every household in Tripura, a step he claimed was not adequately addressed during previous administrations.

Community Involvement and Appeal for Participation

Roy invited citizens across Tripura to actively participate in this patriotic endeavour by hoisting the Tricolour at their residences, particularly on August 12, 13, 14, and 15. He stressed the importance of showing maximum respect for the national flag during the Independence Day celebrations.

The Har Ghar Tiranga initiative aims to encourage citizens to bring the national flag home and showcase it as part of the nationwide celebration of India’s independence. The campaign seeks to foster a sense of unity and national pride among people of all ages.

In conclusion, Roy reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to raising awareness about the Tiranga and ensuring its visibility in everyday life. He believes this initiative will promote a deeper understanding of national pride and identity as the country approaches its Independence Day celebrations.
