Spanish Police Arrest Goldy Dhillon, Key Aide of Lawrence Bishnoi

The CSR Journal Magazine

Goldy Dhillon, a wanted gangster, has been apprehended by Spanish security agencies in connection with the murder of a medical store cashier in Chandigarh. Reports indicate that the operation was carried out following intelligence from the Punjab Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF). Dhillon is alleged to have orchestrated the killing of Janaki Das, a 45-year-old cashier at Shri Kumar Medical Hall, who was shot dead during a brazen attack on June 13.

Details of the Chandigarh Murder

The attack occurred around 2:30 pm when three armed men arrived at the market on a motorcycle. According to Chandigarh police records, two suspects, donning masks, entered the medical store while their accomplice kept watch outside. Eyewitness statements and initial investigations indicate that the assailants approached the counter and opened fire at close range, discharging multiple rounds. Das was immediately taken to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), where he succumbed to his injuries. Following the investigation, Dhillon was identified as the suspected mastermind behind this incident.

Authorities believe that Dhillon has been operating from outside India, allegedly coordinating activities with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He is under investigation by several law enforcement agencies due to his suspected involvement in various criminal activities, including extortion, illegal arms trafficking, and narcotics distribution. According to officials, Dhillon’s gang utilises advanced communication methods, such as encrypted platforms and virtual numbers, to evade Indian law enforcement.

Dhillon’s Criminal Activities and Links

Dhillon has purportedly claimed responsibility for several violent acts outside India. This includes an incident involving gunfire outside the residence of Canadian businessman Jasvir Dhesi in Brampton in January, which gained widespread attention on social media. He has also been linked to other high-profile cases, such as a shooting outside comedian Kapil Sharma’s café in Canada and the killing of textile tycoon Darshan Singh Sahasi in Abbotsford, who reportedly refused to comply with extortion demands. Most recently, Dhillon was implicated in a shooting incident at the Lakshmi Property office in Rajpura and later claimed responsibility through social media.

The reach of Dhillon’s operations is extensive, with several arrests and recoveries taking place in India as part of continuing efforts to dismantle his network. Delhi Police previously detained two alleged operatives of Dhillon’s gang, identified as Jatin Bhardwaj alias Nannu, aged 28, and Sukhwinder Singh alias Bagga, also aged 28, seizing firearms and ammunition from them. They are suspected of being part of a network responsible for arms and narcotics distribution.

Impact of Dhillon’s Arrest on Indian Law Enforcement

In a separate incident, Punjab Police arrested two shooters linked to a firing incident in Rajpura following an encounter on the Patiala–Sangrur bypass. Earlier this year, two sharpshooters associated with Dhillon sustained injuries in an encounter in Patiala, leading to the recovery of international firearms and a motorcycle without registration. The ongoing efforts to eliminate Dhillon’s criminal network, along with his recent arrest in Spain, are viewed as a significant advancement for Indian law enforcement in combating transnational gang networks operating internationally.
