The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) initiated bulldozer action at the RCC Classes premises in Pune, attributed to substantial property tax dues and alleged misuse of commercial space. The action follows the detention of Shivraj Motegaonkar, linked to the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak investigation. Reports indicate that two properties associated with Motegaonkar were sealed by civic officials in light of these issues.

PMC officials disclosed that RCC Classes, operated by Motegaonkar, was conducting coaching for NEET and JEE aspirants at the aforementioned premises. The outstanding property tax amount, reportedly Rs 3.20 crore, prompted the municipality to take decisive action against the properties in question.

As part of the enforcement operation, the building department of PMC sealed Shop No 1 located on the first floor of a building on JM Road. Prior notifications highlighted that the coaching classes were in violation of regulatory requirements, lacking the necessary permissions to operate.

Investigation into Unauthorised Modifications and Extensions

Pune Municipal Corporation further identified illegal alterations related to parking and unauthorised construction at the RCC Classes site. This prompted additional measures, including heavy machinery being deployed to the area to carry out the necessary demolition of structures deemed illegal by the PMC.

In the wake of these actions, the PMC has also launched an inquiry into other properties owned by Motegaonkar across Pune. This comprehensive investigation is intended to ensure compliance with local regulations and assess potential tax liabilities across his business ventures.

This enforcement comes in the wake of Motegaonkar’s recent arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He was taken into custody following an extensive seven-hour interrogation concerning his alleged involvement in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case.

Details Surrounding the NEET-UG Paper Leak Case

The CBI’s investigation revealed that Motegaonkar was purportedly an integral member of a group involved in illicitly distributing NEET-UG examination materials. The agency’s documentation suggests that he played a pivotal role in acquiring examination questions and answers, particularly on April 23, ahead of the official examination conducted on May 3.

Following reports of a potential paper leak, the National Testing Agency made the decision to cancel the NEET-UG examination on May 12, following initial assessments. A re-examination has been scheduled for June 21 to accommodate the affected candidates.

On May 14, the CBI conducted raids at Motegaonkar’s residence in Latur and multiple branches of his coaching institute. Investigators recovered not only a cache of chemistry questions that matched those from the May 3 examination but also a leaked NEET-UG 2026 paper from Motegaonkar’s mobile device, which has since been sent for forensic analysis.

Investigations have continued to unveil a network of individuals implicated in the distribution of leaked materials, with Motegaonkar alleged to have withheld information regarding all recipients of the illicit papers. The CBI has also asserted that he attempted to destroy evidence post-examination to mitigate any legal ramifications.
