Prior to the meeting with Modi, S. Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, had also engaged with Rodriguez. Jaishankar highlighted the significance of engaging with Rodriguez and indicated that their meeting would play a crucial role in further strengthening cooperation between India and Venezuela. This illustrates India’s proactive approach towards international relations and its strategic engagements with South America.

Rodriguez’s Official Visit

Delcy Rodriguez’s visit to India is part of a five-day official trip aimed at reinforcing Indo-Venezuelan ties. She arrived in New Delhi for this purpose on June 3, 2026.
