PM Modi Hosts NDA Breakfast Meeting Emphasising Collective Identity

The CSR Journal Magazine

The recent breakfast meeting hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was described by Jagdish Basunia, a leader of the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), as an opportunity for meaningful dialogue. Basunia noted that the Prime Minister underscored the importance of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) being perceived as a familial entity. The leader highlighted that the discussions revolved around national development and the spirit of cooperation among the members of the NDA.

Commenting on the proceedings, Basunia stated, “It was a great interaction with PM Modi over breakfast today, a very cordial meeting. PM told us we are all part of the NDA family. Let’s work together for public welfare, the way NDA works.” His remarks reflect a commitment to collaborative efforts within the coalition.

Development Focus: North-East Region Discussed by MPs

During the meeting, significant attention was dedicated to the development of the North-East region of India. Sudip Bandyopadhyay, another NCPI MP, mentioned that this topic emerged prominently during the discussions. He reiterated a shared commitment to realise Prime Minister Modi’s vision for this area, indicating a focus on regional development initiatives that align with national growth objectives.

Similarly, Shatabdi Roy, another MP from NCPI, expressed enthusiasm regarding the collaborative efforts discussed during the meeting. She stated, “We had a discussion on how to work together for the best interests of the nation.” Their remarks collectively signal a strong intent among NDA MPs to prioritise targeted development in regions requiring attention.

Reports indicate that approximately 45 newly elected and first-time NDA Lok Sabha MPs engaged with Prime Minister Modi during the breakfast meeting at his residence around 9 AM. This gathering included MPs from various parties who have recently joined the NDA, showcasing an inclusive approach to governance and representation.

Previous Meetings and Emphasis on Appropriate Conduct

This latest meeting follows Prime Minister Modi’s previous breakfast gathering with newly elected BJP Rajya Sabha MPs on 5th August. Reports suggest that this earlier engagement was also conducive, allowing the PM to offer guidance while addressing the queries of the MPs. Such interactions are indicative of Modi’s commitment to mentoring new members of the legislature.

Sources reveal that during the earlier meeting, the Prime Minister cautioned MPs about maintaining proper conduct in their interactions within Delhi. He advised against becoming entangled in local political dynamics, stressing the importance of representing their constituents effectively beyond the confines of Lutyens Delhi.

To further enhance their impact, the Prime Minister advised the MPs to exercise caution with social media, reminding them of both its potential benefits and drawbacks. Modi urged all members to maintain dignity in public representations, steering clear of inflammatory language or behaviour. He encouraged active involvement in outreach through platforms like Facebook and Instagram, focusing on promoting government initiatives and engaging with the youth.
