Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on August 1 in Vizianagaram that significant infrastructure initiatives worth nearly Rs 18,000 crore have been rolled out, inaugurated, or had their foundation stones laid. This announcement, made during the inauguration of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport in Bhogapuram, demonstrates the swift development occurring in Andhra Pradesh.

During his address, PM Modi asserted that these developmental works represent the rapid progress the state is experiencing. He emphasized the importance of these projects in achieving the vision of a prosperous “Swarna Andhra” or Golden Andhra Pradesh.

He noted the significance of the day for both Andhra Pradesh’s development and the realisation of the Swarna Andhra vision. PM Modi expressed his gratitude for being present in North Andhra during what he described as an auspicious occasion, particularly within the context of a holy month.

Recognition of Local Leaders and Achievements

The Prime Minister praised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his commitment to modern infrastructure development, particularly highlighting the inauguration of the new airport. He acknowledged the dual achievements of both constructing an airport and the setting of a world record in the Dhimsa dance by local tribal women, calling it a blend of tradition and modernity.

PM Modi commended the leadership and vision shown by Chandrababu Naidu, referring to the airport as a facility that aims for extensive connectivity while also celebrating local culture through the dance achievement. He underscored the importance of integrating infrastructural advancements with cultural heritage.

As part of the day’s agenda, PM Modi inaugurated the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, with plans to dedicate additional projects valued over Rs 17,900 crore. The warm welcome he received in Bhogapuram was emblematic of the local support and enthusiasm for the developments taking place.

Airport Facilities and Regional Impact

The newly inaugurated passenger terminal of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport is designed to enhance travel experiences through modern and efficient infrastructure. The terminal incorporates advanced technologies and sustainable features aimed at improving operational efficiency in line with future aviation demands.

The airport is anticipated to significantly contribute to tourism, trade, and investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh. By enhancing air connectivity in the region, it is expected to stimulate job creation and bolster the local economy.

Following this inauguration, PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre at Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama in Mysuru at 3:30 PM. Reports indicate that he will also address attendees at this event.
