The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a “Viksit Bharat” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat,” asserting that it is instigating a transformation across various sectors in the country. His remarks were made during a public rally held in Bhogapuram, Vizianagaram on August 1.

Kalyan expressed that the comprehensive development strategy guided by Modi has significantly impacted areas such as transportation, digital infrastructure, defence, and renewable energy. He noted the extensive nature of the growth that India is experiencing under the Prime Minister’s leadership.

He stated, “Modi ji, your vision of Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat is transforming the nation across every sector, from highways to railways, from ports to airports.” His comments highlighted the multi-faceted approach that the government has taken towards national development.

Inauguration of Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport

Earlier that day, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram, Andhra Pradesh. Upon arrival, he was greeted with a warm welcome, accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

The airport has been developed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis at a cost exceeding Rs 5,640 crore. Designed to accommodate six million passengers annually, it aims to bolster Andhra Pradesh’s connectivity and stimulate regional growth.

According to official sources, the airport incorporates modern facilities to enhance passenger experiences, featuring advanced infrastructure and technology aimed at operational efficiency. It is equipped with systems such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Building Information Modelling (BIM), and automated baggage handling systems, all designed to improve passenger convenience and safety.

Further Initiatives by the Prime Minister

Following the inauguration in Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre, also known as Viveka Smaraka, at Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama in Mysuru, Karnataka at 3:30 PM. He is also expected to address the attendees during the event.

The operations of the newly inaugurated airport are anticipated to significantly enhance tourism, trade, and investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh. It is projected that increased air connectivity will lead to job creation and further economic development in the region.
