On August 8, 2026, Chief Minister of Manipur, Khemchand Yumnam, inaugurated a Dialysis Unit at the Community Health Centre in Kangpokpi along with a District Blood Storage Facility at the District Hospital in the same area. This initiative aims to enhance healthcare services and provide timely medical attention to residents. Additionally, the Chief Minister facilitated the distribution of an ambulance to bolster patient transport and emergency services in the region.

In his statements on social media, Yumnam expressed his satisfaction with the inauguration of these critical health services. The Chief Minister’s visit is part of a broader commitment to improving healthcare access across Manipur.

New Initiatives for Vulnerable Populations

As part of his visit to Kangpokpi, Chief Minister Khemchand Yumnam laid the foundation stone for an Observation Home at the District Headquarters. Additionally, he distributed monthly financial assistance of Rs 4,000 to beneficiaries under the Mission Vatsalya programme, which is designed to support children’s welfare.
