The CSR Journal Magazine

KLAY, a prominent early childhood education and care provider in India, has appointed Abhishek Joshi as its new Chief Executive Officer. This leadership change is expected to significantly influence the company during a transformative era for the education sector, where the early developmental years of children are becoming increasingly vital to national educational policies in India.

Abhishek’s vision encompasses establishing KLAY as the premier early childhood ecosystem across the country. His approach includes enhancing the brand’s offerings in learning, care, and parenting while aiming to increase access to quality early education for families nationwide. Rather than seeking modest growth, his mandate involves redefining standards for early childhood education in India.

Leadership Experience of Abhishek Joshi

With over twenty years in leadership roles at various major consumer brands, Abhishek Joshi brings extensive experience to KLAY. He has previously worked with organisations such as Licious, Jubilant FoodWorks (Domino’s India), Hindustan Unilever (HUL), and GCMMF (Amul). His vast expertise includes business transformation and fostering customer-centric growth.

Known for his transformative leadership style, Abhishek is dedicated to creating purpose-driven organisations and building high-performing teams. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Management at the Institute of Rural Management Anand and holds a Bachelor of Technology from Govind Ballabh Pant University. Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys activities such as trekking, surfing, and travelling, and values spending time with his family.

In a statement regarding his appointment, Abhishek noted the critical importance of how children experience their formative years. He emphasized that KLAY has developed a rare trust with parents, and he is eager to build on that foundation to create a more significant impact in ensuring that children across India start with the best possible early experiences.

Chairman’s Perspective on the Future of KLAY

Sandeep Reddy, Chairman of Founding Years Learning Solutions, expressed his enthusiasm for Joshi’s appointment. He highlighted that India is undergoing a pivotal shift in its approach to early childhood education. Reddy stated that there is a growing understanding that early experiences significantly affect a child’s future, reinforcing the importance of KLAY’s mission.

According to Reddy, Abhishek’s track record of building trusted brands while ensuring high-quality delivery aligns perfectly with KLAY’s aspirations. He stressed the need for world-class early childhood education to become a standard expectation, accessible to all Indian families, rather than a privilege for a few.

This change in leadership is heralded as a significant milestone for KLAY as it seeks to advance its mission of providing quality early education and care to families throughout India.
